For a similar pair by William Pitts, 1813, see 'The Gilbert Collection of Gold and Silver', by T. Schroder, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 1988 edition, pg 395-7. It is noted that this design is based on a pair of sauceboats by Frederick Kandler, London 1742.
