An early 19th century Belgian silver chalice with an associated cover,
chalice; maker's mark script W NL conjoined or "INM", cover stamped "H" over crescent, some sections unmarked,
conventional form, the gilt bowl set within a silver receiver embossed with scroll-edged and wing-cherub mask cartouches; the cartouches depicting Jesus, St Peter, Virgin Mary and Child and a pascal lamb, the knop and baluster stem with acanthus leaf decoration, the domed, circular base embossed with vignettes of religious figures and fruit pendants, the associated cover with open-work crown with ball and cross finial, height 45cm, weight 33oz.
