Footnotes

  • Provenance: The Collection of Mr and Mrs Alfred Clark.

Compare a similar design in Kleiner 'Chinese Jades from The Collection of Alan and Simone Hartman' [Page 69/No.61]. The Hartman example, from the Miami collection of Mrs. Betty Schmitt, has a more celadon hue with russet inclusion than the example offered here, and dates from the 16th/17th Century.
