A fine singing bird box by Jacques Brugier,
with fusée movement actuating multi-coloured bird with feathered plumage with a predominant tone of chartreuse green with iridescent highlights, moving head, bone beak, wings and tail feather (tentative) to birdsong, finely pierced grille and polished lid interior, in gilt squat sarcophagus case, the lid with painted scene of a lake with log cabin and woodland path in the foreground with an extensive foliage-topped mountainous landscape beyond, plain wave-line edge border, the case top with geometric tooled decoration of swags, mitres and scrolls on cobalt blue enamel ground, laurel-leaf edge with regressed corners intertwined with twin ribbons of lime green enamel, the corners with clipper blue enamel, sides with wave-line ground and further geometric pattern detail continuing to the underside, and concealed key compartment at the rear, with ratchet key (centre spring broken, but present) - 4in.
