Gibeon Meteorite Tabletop Sculpture From Outer Space
Iron, fine octahedrite
Gibeon, Great Nama Land, Namibia
This deceptively massive meteorite balances in a variety of orientations, including a perspective in which the meteorite appears as an oversized tunnel penetrating a mountainous mass. With an abundance of character and bright chrome to platinum patina, this tabletop specimen is an archetypal example of a select Gibeon meteorite. If this meteorite were cut, which should never occur given its character, the fine octahedral matrix seen in the previous and subsequent lots would be in evidence.
