A greenish-white jade cup with reticulated handles
Ming Dynasty
Formed with rounded sides rising straight to the mouth rim, raised on a waisted foot, with a grooved foot pad and recessed base, the exterior worked in shallow relief with a scene of a riverscape, interrupted by opposing pierced and undercut handles in the form gnarled flowering prunus branches, the pale green matrix displaying opaque white inclusions and russet stained veins and fissures.
13.4cm (5 1/4in) long.
