Ten Walt Disney preliminary drawings from Dumbo
1941, pencil on paper, nine of the preliminary drawings depict a playful Dumbo and the tenth drawing depicts the female elephants with band-aides and bandages after a confrontation with Mrs. Jumbo.
Tytla modeled the character of Dumbo after his own son Peter. In this film, he demonstrated that he was equally talented to represent not only the powerful and evil such as Chernabog, but the tenderness as seen in this young elephant.
