South, The Story of Shackleton’s Last Expedition 1914-1917. London: William Heinemann, 1920. Illustrated, large folding map. 8vo. Original blue cloth lettered and decorated in silver. One plate torn, tear to folding map, endpapers toned, light shelfwear, cloth otherwise clean.

Signed and inscribed on the front free endpaper by Leonard Hussey, to his mother, ”Just before leaving for the South for the second time.” Hussey accompanied Shackleton to the South Pole as a meteorologist and assisted with editing of the above title. Hussey also accompanied Shackleton on his final expedition, handling arrangements for Shackleton’s burial in South Georgia.
