Nova Virginiae tabula. [Amsterdam]: Ex officina Guilielmi Blaeuw, [c.1663]. Copper-engraved map, hand-colored in outline and touches to cartouches, 377 x 482 mm. Pale even browning and some fading to color, small closed tear near coat of arms.
Attractive map of Chesapeake Bay and environs, with Latin text on verso. The plate was purchased by Blaeu from the estate of Jodocus Hondius; it derives from John Smith's seminal 1612 map of Virginia.
