Footnotes

  • Provenance:
    Family of the sitter

    Note:
In David McKibbin's book 'Sargent's Boston: with an essay and biographical summary & a complete check list of Sargent's portraits', there is a drawing listed as Mrs. Harris (Mildred Stimson Livermore) c.1912.

This portrait could have been drawn when Sargent was visiting Colonel Livermore (the sitter's father) in Telluride, Colorado in the summer of 1916. We belive this because of the photographs illustrated in this catalogue, they were lent to us by the family of the sitter.
