An early George III silver four branch épergne,
by Thomas Pitts I, London 1769,
with central navette shaped bowl above a leaf scroll cage, four detachable arms each supporting a shaped circular basket, all pierced with ovolo and scroll sides among embossed leaf scrolls, the bowl with engraved armorial and each basket centred with a crest, on four scroll supports linked by leaves and fruit, terminating on leaf pads, height 33.4cm, length 47cm, weight 84oz.
