A Charles X gilt bronze figural mantel clock
signed Decommun a' Strassbourg,
the case surmounted by Cupid seated to one side and holding a butterfly towards a flaming torchiere, a rose in his other hand, a quiver of arrows within a floral wreath and his bow beside him, the rectangular foliate moulded stepped plinth base cast with a figural frieze depicting Cupid and Psyche and attendants within a classical landscape, on foliate roundel and lotus scroll feet, the three inch enamel Roman dial signed Decommun a 'Strassbourg, the brass twin drum movement with silk suspension strike on bell, 47.5cm (18 3/4") high.
