An impressive tortoise shell, ivory and jade birdcage with lacquered wood and cloisonné stand

The bird cage frame constructed entirely of tortoise shell with transverse supports carved to resemble twined rope, mounted to the interior base with a mottled green jadeite lotus form pedestal perch standing directly below a suspended jadeite ring perch hanging beneath a pair of white nephrite cloud and chime form plaques, the cage sides supporting various implements and ornaments of intricately carved ivory, with two additional feeders, one a large barrel form parcel gilt cloisonné enameled metal container, the other a later cylindrical form bone vessel, the entire cage suspended from a paktong hook embellished with jadeite and agate beads from a mandarin necklace (minor warpage, some cage bars loose, small damages); the stand composed of a brown, gilt and red lacquered vase-form base decorated with landscapes and raised on a hexagonal plinth, the brown lacquered pole incised with cloud designs and topped by dragon-headed terminal of cloisonné and gilt metal that supports in its jaws the hook of the birdcage (small dent to cloisonné).
