A Meissen plate and a dish
circa 1735-40
The plate with shaped brown-line rim, painted in the kakiemon palette with the 'Schmetterling' pattern with a butterfly resting on a flowering branch, the border painted with six further flowering branches, 22cm diam, crossed swords mark (light scratches to enamels), the shaped dish with 'Oldozier' moulded border, painted with the 'Bienenmuster' pattern with a bouquet of flowers tied with a yellow ribbon bow amongst fanciful moths, above a grassy bank with flowers and leaves, within gilt-line rim, 26.3cm diam, crossed swords mark and impressed 21 (some minor patches of rubbing to enamels and flaking to gilding) (2)
