Decorated in the workshop of James Giles with a Fancy bird perched on a tall rock, flanked by another perched on a tree, a rustic fence on the other side, the border with two butterflies and a group of plums in 'wet brush' style, within a shaped and gilded rim, 19.2cm diam, red anchor mark

Footnotes

  • Provenance: exhibited Albert Amor Golden Age Exhibition 1980. The red anchor mark perhaps suggests that Giles was copying Chelsea, or simply that he was attempting to pass his porcelain off as the product of that famous manufactory
