Footnotes
The vendor was the lead guitarist with the Mustangs. The date is significant as Pete Townshend played rhythm guitar for the band that evening, probably one of his earliest gigs. In fact he also played with them earlier that day, at the Shepherd's Bush Cricket Club. The following year, the Mustangs and Pete's own group, the Detours, were both booked on the Bob Druce circuit and the White Hart became one of the Detours' regular venues. The Mustangs later became the Footprints and supported the Who at the Marquee for six weeks in November/December 1964
