the twenty page play being based on Sherlock Holmes, entitled "The Adventures of the Dying Detective" adapted from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story, written in ink in neat script on lined paper, having detailed overwritten corrections, signed "A. Guinness".

  • Alec Guinness studied at Monnow Road School, Bermondsey, London and from an early age enjoyed the arts, particularly writing and acting. This script is dated 1929, and therefore was written when Alec Guinness was 15 years old.
