A rare 'Sidar' 11-inch Polyphon disc musical box with Brigadier penny-shoot,
German, circa 1900,
No. 63443, with single comb, gilt painted cast bedplate and front crank-wind single-spring motor, 1d. penny-in-the-slot actuation for two revolutions, penny dropping to base in painted cast metal rifle of a brigadier, in red painted dress aiming at a target, painted scene of the target gallery behind, front control rod for left and right aim, right-hand rod pull for fire and return drawer when penny achieves bulls-eye for free musical play, behind glazed panel, instruction plaques to base coin drawer, below shooting field and the spindle pediment, in walnut case with hinged double-sided disc storage compartment at the back, locks to the two front doors and coin drawer 42.3/4in. (108.5cm) high
