Naqada II, circa 3400-3200
Of globular form with barrel-shaped lug handles and a flat everted rim, the decoration applied in red slip on a buff ground, consisting of concentric circles interspersed with vertical 'water' lines, horizontal rows of 'water' lines on and above the handles, 5¾ in (14.5cm) high, repaired, and an Egyptian red burnished pottery cup of alabastron form, the cylindrical body tapering to the pointed base, the plain rim painted with a band of black slip, Middle Kingdom, 2050-1786 B.C., 7in (18cm), some wear (2)
