1847-54 Embossed: 6d. mauve (S.G.58), defective example, used July 1856 on petite envelope to Manarabou near Charlotte Town, Prince Edward Island, with July 30 arrival c.d.s. A scarce destination.

1840 1d. Plate 1a: IC grey-black (very worn) with close to good margins, cancelled with red M.C. and part "Penny Post" in black, scarce, Philatelic Expertising Certificate (2000).

1840 1d. Plate IV: BI used September 1840 on printed Insolvent Debtors' Relief form to Kendal, large even margins, tiny natural paper flaw on the chignon, neat red M.C and illegible town handstamp alongside.

1840 2d. Plate I: AC, just clear to large margins, in an attractive deep shade, fresh unused with virtually full o.g.

1911-13 Somerset House: 2d. in a lower left corner block of 48 (6 x 8, folded), some affected by toning, otherwise fine and fresh unmounted mint.

1911-13 Somerset House: 2d. deep dull green and red (S.G.290), block of four, light gum bend, unmounted o.g.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

For all Sales categories excluding Wine, Coins & Medals and Motor Cars and Motorcycles:
A successful bidder at this sale will be required to pay Bonhams 1793 Limited ("Bonhams") a premium calculated as follows:
25% on the first £100,000 of the hammer price
20% on the excess of £100,001 and up to £2,000,000 of the hammer price
12% on the excess of £2,000,001 of the hammer price

VAT at 20% will be payable on the amount of the premium.

The premium is payable for the services to be provided by Bonhams in the Buyer's Agreement which is contained in the catalogue for this Sale and for the opportunity to bid for the Lot at the Sale.

Payment Notices

Payment in advance: by cash, cheque with banker's card, credit card, bank draft or traveller's cheque.

Payment at collection: by credit or debit card.

Credit card charges: a surcharge of 2% is applicable when using Mastercard, Visa and overseas debit cards.
