rectangular form, the curved cover mounted with a silver-gilt finial, upswept scrolls flanking a shaped reserve centred with the letter 'B', stepped panelled front enamelled with the arms of the Midland Assurance Company, flanked with two vertical silver-gilt chains, the reverse with a relief panel depicting their offices Hagley Road, Birmingham, each stepped corner inset with a relief panel, each with a standing figure to represent commerce, industry, welfare and justice, ivorine handles with leaf junctions, all mounted onto a wood base, wood lined interior and applied presentation plaque, length handle to handle 36cm.
