Some enamel damage to the last, otherwise very fine. (7)

    Colonel Clifford Boardman Winter was born on 16.1.1869 and was educated at Derby School, Wren and Gurney's. He joined the 2nd Lincoln Regiment on 1.31890; Lieutenant 30.3.1892, involved in Isazai expedition in 1892, and was appointed to the 25th Punjabis in 1893, he joined the Political Department in in 1895 and served chiefly in Baloochistan and was appointed H.B.M.'s Consul at Turbat-i-Haidarl, Persia, 1903. Captain 1.3.1901. He left the Political Department and was appointed to the 112th Infantry, 1906. Major 1.3.1908. Empoyed on the staff at Simla, 1909. D.A.Q.M.G. Karachi Brigade, 1913; D.A.Q.M.G. to Sir John Nixon's Staff in Mesopotamia, April 1915. Lt.Col 1.3.1916. Served on as A.Q.M.G. until invalided in April 1919. He retired in 23rd July 1920, and died on 6.6.1930.
