This pistol, although lacking signature and proof marks, may be the work of Nicholas Paris, Jr., of Warwick. A very similar pistol signed by him was formerly in the Clay P. Bedford Collection (inv. no. 1086), exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, in 1971. See Early Firearms Of Great Britain And Ireland From The Collection Of Clay P.
