Kiana: A Tradition of Hawaii. Boston, Cambridge, & London: James Munroe & S. Low, Son, 1857. 277, [10] pp. Frontispiece and two plates, illustrations in the text. 12mo. Original red patterned cloth, gilt-lettered spine. Generally internally clean, head and tail of spine rubbed and with some tiny chips at head, a few tiny signs of worming to joints, light shelfwear, an excellent copy.

First edition "of what is generally acknowledged as the first full-length piece of fiction with a Hawaiian setting" (Forbes 2219). Sabin 35799.
