  • Provenance: The Simpson Collection. Sold in these rooms on 13 June 2000, lot 344. This is one of only six recorded Lund's cream pails. Two of these, including the example in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, still retain their ladles. All show variations in size, the moulding of the handle and pattern. Another example from The Watney Collection was sold in these rooms on 10 May 2000, lot 548. Two more from The A.J. Smith Collection are illustrated by Simon Spero (2006), p 79.
