  • Bartholomew Seman (or Goldbeter) was made Master of the mint of London and Calais. The Indentiture appointing him is dated 13 Feb. 1422. The terms were not good enough for him and in November 1422 he was granted the profits of the mint of York and later that of Bristol. No Bristol coins of this period are known...Gold coins of Henry V engraved by Gilbert Vanbranburgh of annulet type with pierced cross mintmark.
