Lot Details
1954 BSA 650cc Rocket Gold Star Replica
Registration no. YND 551A
Frame no. 72131
Engine no. DA10R6383
Widely recognised as one of the most desirable of all factory-built café racers, the Rocket Gold Star arrived in 1962 along with the first of BSA’s new unit construction range. A combination of mainly Gold Star cycle parts and the A10 Super Rocket twin-cylinder engine, the newcomer represented the last of the old pre-unit line and was destined for a relatively short life. With the rarity of original bikes, many enthusiasts built their own replicas and this is such a model. It is believed to have been restored/re-built about twenty years ago and is very smartly presented in black livery with chrome mudguards and polished alloy tank. The vendor describes mechanical condition as being very good although the bike is not currently registered and will require the usual checks and recommissioning before using its obvious power potential. The machine is offered with a Swansea registration document.
