1958 AJS 250cc Model 14
Registration no. RRP 523
Frame no. 1338
Engine no. 802
Associated Motor Cycles returned to the 250cc class in 1958 with a brace of all-new models. Shared by the AJS Model 14 and Matchless G2, the four-stroke, overhead-valve power unit incorporated its oil tank within the crankcase and appeared to be of unit construction, although a separate gearbox was retained. The cycle parts comprised an open, tubular steel frame, closed at the bottom by a pressed-steel channel, complemented by a telescopic front fork and swinging-arm rear suspension. This AJS Model 14 was restored by the previous owner to an evidently high standard and since coming into the vendors hands three years ago has been used on sunny summer days only. The machine is offered with Swansea V5 document.
