A collage box: "Mystery"
A cardboard "snakebite freeze" kit decorated on six sides and housed in a custom-made acrylic case with a facsimile signature engraved in red on the front left corner reading "Truman Capote"; imagery includes a snake, body parts (head, eyes, feet, etc.), a mummy, a winged lizard, and a skeleton in the form of Uncle Sam. Included are two manila envelopes filled with magazine and other clippings that Capote kept for his collage boxes: the first one has his handwritten notations in blue felt-tip ink reading "Capote / Boxes / Ivory / bracelet / 3574 / 1 / Merrin Jewelers / 530 Madison Ave. / N.Y.C."; the second also annotated by him in green felt-tip ink and reads "Boxes."
