Footnotes

  • Allan Adler was a noted silversmith from the 1940s until he died in 2003. Based in Los Angeles with a store on Sunset Boulevard (and with other shops in upscale California towns such as La Jolla, Corona del Mar, and San Francisco), Adler became known as the “silversmith to the stars” as his clients included Orson Welles, Errol Flynn, Montgomery Clift, and even John F. Kennedy (coincidently, all people Capote knew and associated with).
