1. WAOWAWANAONK. Autograph Letter Signed (“Peter Wilson”), 2 pp recto and verso, 8vo, Versailles, NY, October 6, 1858, to Theodore Dwight, agreeing to appear before the American Ethnographic society meeting, with integral blank leaf, leaves creased horizontally and vertically, toning to lower two-thirds of page 1, ¼ inch cuts at center vertical fold. Letter from the chief of the Cayuga.
2. Manuscript Document, 1 p, legal folio, Columbus, MS, November 7, 1848, being a deposition in a lawsuit, leaf creased horizontally, second panel heavily toned, some separation at left folds. In part: "Did you know one John McGilbey … was he a Choctaw Indian & head of a family, & as such entitled to a reservation of a section of land by the 14th article of the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit creek made between the Choctaw tribe of Indians and the United States...?"
3. "At a Special Meeting of the Committee appointed for the Gradual Civilization of the Indian Natives, held Fourth-Month 22d, 1808." Printed broadside. 4to (200 x 250 mm). Leaf creased horizontally, one-inch square heavily darkened to upper right corner, toning overall. A note from the Committee’s clerk, Thomas Wistar, asking for a “suitably qualified female Friend” willing to accompany a family going to Tunesassah to instruct the natives.
