Collectors lace
Three pieces of Milanese or Flemish braid lace (possibly 17th Century) with tightly scrolling stems, each ending in a flowerhead including tulips and carnations with raised work to the centres, all on a bobbin made bar ground, 240 x 13cm, 2 x 80 x 13cm. A single mid 18th Century lappet of Brussels bobbin lace with a design of linked cartouches traversing the width and elongated floral sprays to each side. A quantity of narrow bobbin lace edging, circa 1800, with Vrai Drochel ground, narrow Brussels scalloped edging and applied leafy sprigs. A length of 19th Century Mechlin edging. A narrow flounce of Brussels Duchesse, the Point de Gaze insertions each featuring a rose with raised petals, 225 x 14cm (some staining). A border of Irish crochet with large scale scrolling stems, exotic flowerheads and raised features (some staining). A rectangle of braid lace formed from two flounces with loosely worked fernlike design with slender bar ground. (qty)
