Serial no. B7423. .30/06. 24 1/4 inch barrel with ramped spear fore-sight and five leaf express sight on raised base. Barrel marked George Gibbs Ltd, Bristol 33 Savile Row London and Vancouver Canada. Sight leaves from 100 to 500 yards. Folding sight protector on front sight. Built on an original Oberndorf Mauser single square bridge action, circa 1924. Blued action engraved with oak leaves and acorns. Blued floorplate engraved with oak leaves and game scene of stag running through a woodland. Action components with same Mauser serial numbers. Checkered bolt flag safety with gold lettering. Underside of bolt handle is checkered. Two-stage trigger. Finely checkered stock of figured walnut. Horn fore-end tip. Sling eyes. Casehardened engraved gripcap with trap. Vacant gold shield. Pachmayr Old English recoil pad. Aldis-style telescopic sight engraved Fitted by George Gibbs, Ltd. Bristol, 33 Saville Row London & Vancouver BC. Maker's double claw with single rear post see-though mounts.
Condition: Excellent, as redone. Barrel and action show 99 percent reblued finish. Bright bore. Two sight leaves show deformation on edges. Stock shows some impressions and a few nicks and scratches.
