Illustrated by Arthur Rackham, including 12 tipped-in color plates on dark grey mounts, tissue guards captioned in red. 4to (285 x 220 mm). Full crushed green morocco, gilt-ruled, t.e.g., pictorial morocco inlay on the upper cover in 10 colors depicting Scrooge frightened by his dressing gown, by Birdsall, original vellum bound in at end, cloth slipcase. Green morocco faded to brown at spine and edges, light wear/nicks to joints and spine bands, slipcase rubbed and faded.

Limited edition, no. 155 of 525 copies, signed by the illustrator. In a charming pictorial morocco binding, which copies the design of Rackham's plate at p 20, "Nobody under the bed; nobody in the closet; nobody in the dressing gown, which was hanging up in a suspicious attitude against the wall." Latimore & Haskell, p 44.
