Footnotes

  • The consignor met Jimi Hendrix backstage at this concert. Jimi gave him this drawing which is based on a painting once owned by his manager, Chas Chandler, who was in the group "The Animals." David Henderson's book Jimi Hendrix-Voodoo Child of the Aquarian Age, mentions the painting of a "psychadelic eye crying." As you will note, the title for this drawing is "May This Be Love?", one of Jimi Hendrix's earlier songs.
