Two Walter Plunkett costume design sketches possibly from "Gone with the Wind"
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1939. Both watercolor and pencil on board paintings; each depicts the same raven-haired actress wearing an elaborate Civil War-era dress; verso of both have handwritten lists outlining fabric costs as well as stamps noting "Selznick International Pictures, Inc."; a light orange signature on the lower right-side of one reads "Plunkett." These are likely designs created for the character of Scarlett O'Hara before Vivien Leigh was cast as they have same Civil War-era look as previous lot, 1078, though these particular dresses do not appear in final version of film.
