An early 20th century walnut and parcel gilt vitrine
stamped Morison & Co., Edinburgh, Quarter veneered on a mahogany carcass, the arched cornice above a central glazed door with lower panel decorated with floweral swags incorporating musical instruments enclosing a cupboard and three shelves flanked by bowed glass panels above quadrant sides raised on scroll feet. 256cm high x 173cm wide x 50cm deep.

  • Provenance: Bought from the Ladykirk House sale conducted by Phillips, lot 818, 23rd and 24th September 1997. The footnote read as follows,'Described in the account of 1906 as "A fine Italian walnut show cabinet, enclosed by one door fitted patent plate glass having richly carved panel below, gables of patent plate glass bent to shape, three glass plate shelves inside, all carving picked out in gold £87."
