A carved white marble statue of Robert Burns, elegantly dressed in waistcoat, tails and breaches and raised on an integral plinth, signed and dated 1887. 115cm high
It appears that this statue was exhibited posthumously at the Royal Academy in 1888. This statue was gifted to the vendor's grandfather from a titled lady after forty-five years service. For another example of Thomas Stuart Burnett's work see Bonhams Scottish sale 22nd August 2002 lot 640.
