A ship Builders half block model of
'S.S. Knottingley'
Modelled finely and with penwork detail with a mirrored panel to the rear, the makers plaque details the ships name, principal dimensions and makers name of 'JOHN CROWN & SONS LTD SUNDERLAND 1907', within a moulded mahogany framed and glazed case, glass damaged. 52cm high x 179cm wide x 31cm deep.

  • The 'Knottingly' was acquired by the Leith Hull & Hamburg Steamship company in 1893. The company acquired the assets of M Issac & sons together with the steamship Knottingly on a time charter basis which continued to serve on the general cargo trade between Leith and Hamburg.
