A very rare Wedgwood Majolica 'Punch and Judy' teapot and cover
circa 1878
Oval, applied with the head of Mr. Punch, his pointed cap forming the handle, the spout with Judy's head, the cover finial modelled as the crouching 'little dog Toby', glazed in turquoise blue with a bright yellow footrim, the characters picked out in colours, 11.7cm high, indistinct impressed registration diamond on handle and factory marks on base, inscribed M2730 (typical fine crazing) (2)
