Footnotes

  • Eugène Feuillâtre (1870-1916) was an accomplished medallist, goldsmith and silversmith. He started his career in Lalique's workshop and is credited with experimenting with methods of enamelling on silver, which is more difficult than gold due to its lower melting point and pioneering the technigue of enamelling on platinum. He may have been responsible for Lalique's experiments in the art of plique-à-jour enamelling.
