A Christmas Carol. London: Chapman & Hall, 1843. [8], 166, [2]. Title-page in blue and red, and illustrated with 4 hand-colored plates and illustrations in the text by John Leech. 8vo. Original light reddish brown cloth, covers with blind decorative border, upper cover with gilt wreath and title, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, a.e.g., custom red cloth clamshell case. Small ownership signature to front free endpaper, internally clean, spine slightly cocked and somewhat faded, head and tail of spine lightly nudged, a few tiny spots to upper cover, but a near fine copy.

First edition, first issue with title-page in blue and red, “Stave I” on page 1, text uncorrected, and green colored endpapers. Smith Part II, 4.
