Full steel gray levant morocco, covers with double gilt rule surrounding panel set with 9 portrait miniatures to each cover by C.B. Currie, the remaining field richly covered with gilt floral and foliate decoration, spine in six compartments, two of which are gilt-lettered, the remaining with single gilt flower surrounded by four gilt oak leaves, gilt dentelles, decorated white silk endpapers, t.e.g., by Riviere & Son, full brown levant morocco pull-off case. Bookplate removed from front flyleaf, covers with a few spots of rubbing, but fine, light shelf wear to case.
Laid in is a diagram of the miniatures which identifies the subjects. The upper cover includes Robert Fielding; William Congreve; Philip, Duke of Wharton; John Lord Hervey; Richard Brinsley Sheridan; Philip Dormer Stanhope, Earl of Chesterfield; Duc de Saint Simon; Beau Nash; and John, Earl of Rochester.
