Voyages from Montreal, on the River St. Laurence, through the Continent of North America, to the Frozen and Pacific Oceans; In the Years 1789 and 1793. London: for T. Cadell, Jun. and W. Davies, 1801. [4pp], vii, cxxxii, 412, [2pp]. Stipple-engraved frontispiece portrait of the author, three folding maps with some hand-coloring. 4to (270 x 205 mm). Modern half simulated brown leather over marbled boards, gilt-lettered spine. Offset from frontispiece, maps with some carefully repaired tears and reinforcement and with some minor offset, occasional very faint foxing.

First edition. “First and finest edition of the earliest expedition made by a white man in this direction. His investigations, although pursued at so early a period of Arctic exploration, were remarkable for their accuracy” (Sabin 43414). Also laid in is a contemporary German map charting Mackenzie’s voyage.
