    Richard Williams was commisioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Welch Fusiliers on 17th August 1768 and promoted to Lieutenant on 13th May 1773. He was on a tour of Continental Europe when the regiment sailed for New York. Williams joined them in Boston, landing on 12th June 1775, he died in the United States.
