A pair of 'Rockefeller pattern' export porcelain berry dishes
Late Qianlong Period
Each with reticulated curving walls banded at the rim with gilt leaf sprays separating miniature landscapes drawn in sepia and iron red monochrome that repeat in bird and landscape panels separated by a scale-patterned band in puce enamels framing a figural scene across the floor of the well, one of a scholar pushed in a wheeled chair and the other a boating party of scholars and a Buddhist priest (one dish with hairline cracks).
