A Lega Bwame Society ivory maskette
Zaire, of naturally curving elephant ivory, the heart-shaped facial plane with pierced mouth and eyes rimmed by raised ovals, the straight rounded nose expanding slightly, decorated in a punctate pattern across the cheeks, brow and forehead, remains of white residue, pierced at the sides and suspended on a vegetal fiber cord, patina on the reverse side darker than the front; along with a ritual bone spoon, kalukili, the smooth implement with jagged handle and punctate adornment.
