1969 Auburn Replica driven by Madonna
Warner Brothers, 1990.
Ford V8 powertrain
This is the #1 Hero car featured and driven by Madonna in the film. This car was restored by George Barris and exhibited for many years at the Star Car Museum in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
This film was a labor of love for Warren Beatty, who directed and starred in the film, which featured his then real life on again off again girlfriend, Madonna behind the wheel of this Auburn. Dick Tracy played by Beatty is out to nail Big Boy Caprice (Al Pacino) and round up the gang. He informally adopts a street kid (Charlie Korsmo), encounters problems with his girlfriend Tess Trueheart (Glenne Headly) and flirts and fends for himself with Breathless Mahoney (Madonna). The film was most widely acclaimed for its set direction, and the comic book and period feel of the production. This Auburn motorcar is evocative of the mood that was so well realized in the film.
