An Aboriginal wood churinga
Central Australia, the lengthy wood implement of ovoid form, mostly flat on one side and slightly domed on the reverse, worked in an allover pattern on both sides of complementary diamonds, concentric circles and irregular forms, all created through grooved patterning and dotted bands, an ochre wash throughout.
