Two African masks
Including a Mende helmet mask, Sierra Leone, with compact facial features and rolls of fat about the neck, a royal crown insignia on the forehead, the elaborate coiffure topped by four disk partitions, a ring of animal claws emerging at the back; and a Gouro example, Ivory Coast, on a broad oval collar, carved as a slender face with semicircular slit eyes, raised knob scarification on the forehead, a pair of curving horns at top, with black and white pigments.
